Completed studies for composition in the Music School of the University
of Guanajuato, Mex., his principal teachers of composition were : Ricardo
Zhon muldoon: Doctor in composition and professor in the college
conservatory of music of Cincinnati’s University, OH., Franco Donatoni:
Italian composer, Jose Luis Castillo: Spanish composer and conductor
of the symphony orchestra of the University of Guanajuato, and Ignacio
Baca Lobera: Doctor in composition and professor in the music school of
the University of Queretaro,
Mexico.
As composer:
Between his compositions Hector Zapiain has several pieces for Music
ensembles (where he use different orchestral’s instruments),
Instruments’ solos, and various songs for guitar, His compositions has
been played by musicians of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of
Guanajuato and for the professors of the School of Music of the
University of Guanajuato.
Awards and Distinctions
Hector Zapiain received the diploma in the area of composition and was
granted in two occasions by the Institute for Culture and Arts from the
State of Guanajuato, Mex. Because of his work as composer, He was
awarded by the Mexican teenagers association with the prize “Yo Joven”
due to his work as guitarist, and he was selected for the third course of
composition “Franco Donatoni” which was placed in the National Music
School of Mexico city.
As guitarist:
He has performed in many recital and concerts inside and outside
Guanajuato, participating in cultural programs like “Intramuros –
Extramuros” which is part of the interchange culture department from the
University of Guanajuato, Hector Zapiain also has been collaborating
with the non-profit organization “Espejo de Jade” performing recitals to
help different handicaps’ associations in mexico in several occasions.
Actually he is the guitarist and producer of the Mexican-Spanish rock
band “Benito Glamour” and He is producing his nex album "GSR".
